Package arrived yesterday.

Hope to get the stuff down today, but with a holiday lunch and a truck inspection, we'll see. Someday I might even install some tile.

Thanks to Brigit and Scott Ford (Devcom) for getting my order out in an expedited manner!

Oops, sorry. Super thanks to Hammy, who got the ball rolling by giving me the phone number for Scott, as I hadn't replied to Brigit's email (shame on me!)

I'm just a pinball bouncing around in an arcade game.

Product went down easy, cuts easy w/ a sheetrock knife, backing pulls off w/ no problem. Seems thhinner than flex-gard, less gooey glue layer (less movement?). Has a foil layer sandwiched b etween the glue and the fabric (waterproof?).

Tired, been setting all afternoon into the evening.

So far so good- good product.

Sold a job today, 500 feet of 12 x 24. Customer was interested in Ditra, we did speak at length about the respective properties of each, and had physical samples of both with me. (loose and installed on board with tile) I am able to offer Greenskin at a better price since I don't have to buy, transport, mix, or spread any thinset for it's installation.

This was a second meeting with the customer, had measured and done the opening song and dance a week ago. A significant savings was achieved, and I beat out another contractor who was going to put down 1/4" backerboard, didn't ask about the structure/deflection, and told the customer that expansion joints were not needed, I was awarded the job even though my price was higher by a thousand dollars.

Sending the customer this email an hour after the first visit probably didn't hurt-
"Thank you for using the John Bridge Forums Deflect-O-Lator :-)

For joists that are SYP or Douglas Fir, in good condition, 11.25 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide, 16 inches on center, and 14 feet long between supports, the deflection calculated is 0.272 inches.

This translates to a deflection of L / 617.

Since the maximum deflection for tile is L / 360, and for natural stone is L / 720, your floor is rated for Ceramic tile, Congratulations!"

Thanks to John and company for this valuable tool!

Pic is from my bathroom, I'm prepping for paint these days, and Mom in hospital, and a death in g-wife's family..... busy busy.

Can't wait to get back to work!

Plywood, 2 layers, 3/4" and 1/2", 24" OC TGI joists.

I'll be putting it down on single layer 3/4" OSB the end of next week. (deflecto quote in previous post)
