Ain't no pond Q8. Dat's a salt water channel. If that ever freezes up, I'm outta here.

P.S.
John, sounds to me like your sledding hill was Phinney Ridge, up there along Woodlawn Park Zoo. Where did you sled anyway, thru the Buffalo and Wildebeest pens?

I'm beginning to think your momma had her hands full when you were a kid.

I'd count it a blessing if I didn't get any fruit cake. Chocolate
wouldn't be bad as long as it was Lady Godiva, otherwise
I'd rather have coffee cake muffin from Duncan donuts.....
or croissants from France, of course

No, but the fruitcake does. I use the Versabond to speed up the process.

Snow

Linda sure has that right. The drivers around here when it snows! The only thing you can do is stay at home.

We didn't work yesterday. Today because of all the rain tree limbs are breaking onto power lines and there is no power where we wanted to work I lived in Valdez, Alaska for quite sometime where we could get 24" of snow some days. In 12 years I never put chains on a vehicle I owned. Here in Seattle you don't want to try and get out there and drive with the crazy's on all the hills.

It did start raining last night and it is now one big slush pond out there on the streets. Hope it is all gone soon.

My dad fell on Sunday and broke his leg and had to be brought over here to Seattle for sugery. He is 86 and they live in Port Townsend. So I have him over here in yhe hospital and Mom over there afraid to drive, doesn't want to leave the house and come over here even if we go get her. They did the surgery yesterday and have him up today learning to get around. I would guess he will be there a couple more days befor they will release him.

Jerry, that's horrible. Broke leg ain't fun no matter what the age. Tell Mom we said it's OK if she comes over for a day or two, we'll look after her. Someone's got a chicken soup receipt posted here. Tell the ole man to get back to two steppin' soon as he can. Call Linda (da cheerleader), she'll come over an' teach him.

Sounds like you guys have had a rash of bad weather up there. Apparent there was ice involved, rather than just snow.

Hang in there, all you Seattle folks. I wonder if I'll be able to survive a broken limb at 86. Hell, I wonder if I'll survive TILL 86.

John, wait a couple minutes, then look over your shoulder and you'll have the answer to that staring you in the face, along with your lunch.. er... parrot I hope to still be in your good graces then, it's certainly been a pleasure to this point. Happy new year, buddy. Thanks for the book, was more appreciated than expected.

Speaking of Seattle, it's warmed up and we've had a Seattle rain all day. That's the kind of rain you can stand out in and not get wet. It's so fine you dry out faster than it can wet you.

Warm spell's over. Weather guy predicts a new Canadian front bringing "bitter" overnight temperatures. Mid-thirties.
