sealers

My problem- My 14 yr. old unglazed Italian tile (Cotto, I believe) was originally sealed with Cottoseal (very strong odor -mineral spirits type) which is not made anymore. Was given a product called Terraseal (Dyna Corp. Toronto) when resealing. It is really a penetrating sealer and doesn't stand up to scratching very well. Any ideas on what would be compatable and provide a hard wearing surface. thanks, Jef

Hi Jeff, Welcome.

I think you're looking for a glossy or semi-glossy finish on the surface, and a regular sealer won't do that. Aquamix makes products that will remain on the surface. Check their Saltillo tile products.
