Yes, I am still kickin'

Hello,
I tried to get to the posts regarding my book but could not find them so I started this new post. Yes, after 7 years, the book is out. The price was set by JLC. At one time, it was press-ready at 416 pages and over 700 graphics, but a decision was made to cut it down to 300 pages with 650+ graphics. I have many people to thank for getting it out. Yes, I have not been active in the JLC tile forum for a while due to other work that needed to be done. Right now, I am working with my old friend Bob Daniels (former TCA executive Director) on his house in Charleston, SC and as a partner on a new business venture that Bob and I are involved with. Bob is the co-founder of CTEF and a great guy to work for/with.

No, I have not checked into John's forum for a while. Actually, in the past few years, I have had more beers with John than visits to his forum. I just wish there were 6 or 8 extra hours each day so I could get everything I want done done.

Regarding the videos, I shot over 100 hours of Hi-Def video as we were shooting still photos for the book. My timing for releasing video content could not have coincided more closely with the demise of the economy. For the time being, the videos are in a safe deposit box in Los Olivos and will stay there until....? They will ultimately be released on the WEB and available by download.

I would like to send John a copy of the new book and get his take on it. I have received several messages from John's forum members and really appreciate the comments and support. I have also enjoyed spending some time with John over the years. He is a good guy and I think we may have disappointed more than a few people who thought we were at war (LOL).

My best to everyone at the Mud Box.

I did. Among other things, I'm curious to hear what this O.G. has to say about foam backerboards. One subject I can't recall him ever weighing in on.

Michael

Does this mean a tour, say through the Northwest? I'll get you set up in the Seattle Design Center.

Congrats!

Matt,

I read a post of his sometime back that he didn't like the "pitch" of the foam boards.
