Depends who's service (provider) is better for you. They are both good phones. As long as it isn't a Blackberry, I think they are all good. Blackberry sucks!

Never had an iPhone because AT&T service is terrible where I live. Verizon is my carrier. I went with a Droid X, very happy with it. Better than my iPod Touch which is now in a drawer somewhere.

Blackberry's are way better. I got rid of my Android because I could not stand how fast the battery runs down, how dirty the screen got, and the zillion useless apps.

Why you gotta be hating?

I'm a Mac guy, but my old Palm just keeps chuggin' along. There's a lot to be said for the simple things.

on my 5th in a little over a year - seems to be a never ending trackball issue...I have wondered about the droids vs the iphones. I have Nextel now from when every sub & GC around here had push to talk - I love push to talk but I am the only one I know who still has it. Everyone else has given it up - everybody is texting instead I think.

Really prefer to get rid of Sprint/Nextel ..but I thought that same way with Verizon 5-6 yrs ago. I wonder if it isn't just a grass is greener kind of thing.

I wonder about Metro PCS - flat $40 unlimited everything - except coverage

Could it be just the Storm, or how you are using them? The reason I ask is because I've had Blackberries for 10 years and never had issues.

I've had a few Blackberries, current one is the Tour. Works ok but web browsing stinks. Blackberries do email incredibly well.

I prefer to carry one device that can do the following as a minimum:

1. Email/Texting
2. Applications
3. Web browsing
4. Phone
5. Music
5. Video

I do like the iPod Touch/iPhone devices. Very slick interface. Too bad I can't get the iPhone on Verizon.

Droid X - works great for me. I rarely carry my company provided Blackberry anymore. Droid X gets email from all my accounts just as well and viewing attachments on the Droid's large screen is fantastic.

Some of the stock applications leave something to be desired but plenty of free apps in the Android Market.

Number 1, with my storm/s the coverage has been horrible. I can be with somebody else using Verizon at the same jobsite as me and I don't have service, they do.

Number 2 the touch screen always quits working on me, or freezes up and I can't touch half of the items on my screen, so texting and e-mail are out of the question, and sometimes I can't even dial numbers to actually make a call.

Now on this one the actual screen cracked (prolly cause I left it in my pocket at work all day) but they won't replace this one cause of that, so I am using the upgrade on my kids account and going to get a droid prolly.

Oh yea, forgot to mention -

Physical keyboard or virtual? This was a tough one for me. I originally wanted to have a physical set of keys, typing on the on screen keyboards is too slow for me.

That said, I opted for the Droid X even though it doesn't have a physical keyboard. What it does have, and I highly recommend, is Swype.

With Swype I can text or email faster than ever before. Takes a bit of getting used to but once you get the hang of it all is good.

What's a keyboard? I can speak my emails into my Droid. Or my texts. Or my searches. Can an iPhone do that without some cut/paste app?

My contract was up with AT&T and I wanted a new phone but more importantly, I wanted a cheaper plan. I had gone from $80 a month down to $65 a month but I thought it was still too high.

I ended up buying a refurb'd droid on ebay for $200. I love the damn thing. Its the first phone I haven't had to hack away at to make it work the way I want it to. Andrioid 2.2 is a great piece of software. Beats Windows mobile hands down.

Here's the kicker though. I signed up on Page Plus Cellular. It works over Verizon's network so the coverage is fine. I get 1200min, 1200 texts, and 50 megs of data for $29.95 a month, no contract. Page plus will let you port in any cdma phone (verizon & sprint). There are other companies that are similar but you're normally stuck with proprietary phones that they use.
