Question Lightning Strike

Has anyone heard of a lightning strike damaging the bond of a tile floor?

Welcome, shepdiggety. Please give us a first name to use.

I've seen and heard of lightning strikes seriously damaging concrete foundation slabs. Nobody said anything about their tile, though.

Tell us what you've got. Show us some pichers if you got'em. We like pichers.

My opinion; worth price charged.

Lightning Strike

Thanks for the help, my name is John and I own a flooring store. One of my builder's called in a few days ago to tell me that his nephew's home had been struck by lightning, that it had damaged some pipes under the house, and that the tile had come loose from the substrate. Since I haven't actually visited the home, I can't share any pictures yet, and this is all I know currently. From an engineering standpoint, it seems like if there is damage to metal pipes in the slab, some vibration should have been generated as well, but would this have caused a wholesale failure?
