Dahlia

Here is a Dahlia from my garden last summer.

I'm leaving for Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday. Going over to have my teeth fixed. Air fair is cheap and friends who lived over there for the past 8 years insist that the quality of care and facilities are top drawer.
With the cost of dental work here thru the roof I'm hoping to get the work done and still get in a little R & R.
I need a bridge, may more than one and crowns, fillings etc.
will have a report on the rebound and maybe some pictures of some really exotic flowers.
Wish me luck.
J

Yes you did do your homework my mother aquired hers from a house
my stepfather cleaned out. long story short it was hanging under an orange
tree in a basket. she didnt know what it was so i began searching the net
and never let up until i figured it out. yes they do grow in the jungles
and will grow up trees, tap roots in pockets and keep climbing. These cactus
look like a mix between a vine and a cactus. when my new blooms come in
ill post a clean photo of a bloom and the overall plant.

(whistle) That looks real nice Kurt. What is that? It looks like really long tiles? Marble? (Not a tiler... can you tell?)

Mmm, I love Dalias. I had some, but I didn't dig em up before winter a few years back and lost them. Have you seen those 'dinner plate' sized ones? Whew, those are big too.

I saw some snowdrops up in the front yard earlier today, but they weren't quite in the snow. We're suppose to get some snow tonight and I'll see if I can capture them in the morning.

Yikes, that's a long way to go for dental work. But if the quality is there and price is right ya know. We'll be waiting for some splendid exotic pics when you return!

Tee hee hee, I was looking through one of my discs of pictures and ran across this one. I always thought those birds should be saying something to each other!

Night all.

Marni, I'm assuming they are tiling their "bird bath"?

Those big honkin' tiles are PITA 36 inch long stone tiles. They fit real good on a little saw that's 1/2 the size of the tiles. Actually, the saw took em in stride. I was surprised at how well it handled them.

The best part about stone tiles is cutting a complicated piece, then having the thing fall apart in your hands as you are carrying it back to the wall. That's my favorite.

Here is a picture of the waterfront in Seattle today.
going to take them to Bangkok to help cool them off over there.
I see it has been 95 with the humidity right below that. This N'west boy will melt over there.

Nice looking shower Mike. Is that 2x2 on the floor? It looks bigger than that bit hard to tell from the photo. Wall tiles look like 6x6, I like the border with the diagonal tiles
