John,
I think political cartoons like these exploit ignorance rather than inform. The suggestion that simply watching a film will infect "impressionable young boys" with the "homosexual taint" is as credible as citing "Brian's Song" for linking football to terminal cancer or crediting Bill Murray's "Stripes" movie with the fall of Communism. An entertaining story, artfully presented, can be a powerful collaborative expression of the director and the artists involved, regardless of the content or context. If people still look at "Brokeback Mountain" in twenty years like they do "In the Heat of the Night"(1967) or "Touch of Evil"(1958), then it will have proven it's merit. If it's forgotten, then it's critics who claim that it's a sensationalist piece of propaganda can feel vindicated. I haven't seen it either, but I hope to once it comes to the local "baby friendly" movie theater .

Shaughnn I know that you know I am a right winger.

However I just thought the cartoons were funny. And no I don't have anything to say about gay people. I even have a gay friend.

I am a conservative, but I am not a religious fanatic.
