No matter where you're at, you always seem to find a hole to stand in when pics are taken. What's the deal, Dave?

A Pig Roast Opportunity

I'll travel just about anywhere for a Pig Roast!

This weekend was my father's 90th birthday party.

My father, Henry M Rothberg, along with my mother, Lillian Rothberg, founded Laticrete International in 1956.

The business was originally a two person business based in the basement of our family home !

Henry M is recognized as the inventor of modern thinset mortars for installing tile and stone.

One of the world's first thinset tile installations was made as a demonstration for a major CT tile contractor at his home

This tile contractor was the owner of Architectural Tiling & Terrazzo. This gentleman was the Grandfather of one of the JB Forum's members, Bill Vincent !

The first photo is of a lovely roasting pig - soon to be our lunch!

The second set of photos is of my father - Dr. Henry M Rothberg - and my brother David and me mixing up a pail of Laticrete 4237 latex thinset mortar for the demo at Mr Vincent's home !

Laticrete 4237 mixed with jobsite PC & sand was the world's first commercially available thinset mortar for the installation of tile & stone.

Good old American Ingenuity and Innovation that has spread world wide and has changed how tile & stone are installed !

Let me be the first to point out, on the off chance that we might have another mud seminar at a Laticrete facility, that even Henry Sr. permitted the wearing of short pants on the job site. This in hopes that Henry Jr. will take note.

Interesting that y'all had buckets with your company name on'em very early on, Henry. That was the packaging for the dry mortar?

and the thinset I used till the day AT&T closed its doors in 1990. I guess when Kelly asked about the dry mortar, he didn't see this part. (Kelly-- PC is portland cement-- not politically correct. )

That's a pretty interesting story about Laticrete, Mr. Vincent, and the invention of thinset.

About what year was the photo of the two Rothberg boys mixing thinset?
