Carpet tile transitions

What do you recommend for carpet to tile transitions? I have a new house and the carpet is pulling away from tile edges and hardwood edges. There is no transitions from tile or wood floors to the carpet. There are transitions from wood to tile. Can you put in a transition after the fact from tile to carpet and wood floor to carpet?

Yes you can. For the wood to carpet area you need a baby thresshold. Where the tile and the carpet meet they should have used "Z" bar. Its a metal strip that goes under the tack strip and acts like a vise grip to hold the carpet tighter. For the tile to wood floor you need a peice called a "T" cap. there are soltuons for your issues they should used the rite ones. if the house is still new call the flooring company and have them come back out.

If the carpet and tile are the same height, I would just use tack strips next to the tile and tuck it in, looks nicer I think.

Exactly what Opie and RD said should be fine. Thats what I would do. Rd is showing you a z-bar install.
