Glitter Grout

Has anyone ever heard of glitter in grout? I saw it on a home show early this year. I was hoping to find some gout with glitter in it and use it for my tile shower. Does anyone know if it would hold up in the shower?

I just saw the glitter grout yesterday at Lowes. I've never heard of it before. I also saw grout that glows in the dark! Seems a little wierd to me. What if you do use the glitter grout and then decide it doesn't look so appealing. It would take a lot of elbow grease to regrout that area.

Thanks Devo1994! I will have to check it out. Yea, I am not sure if it would look right.....trying to figure out what would look best in a shower that has dark slate, with some tile on the floor with glitter. Thought the glitter grout might pull the wall and floor together.

Thanks for responding so quickly...

Hi Erica,

It's an epoxy grout made by Laticrete. Called SpectraLock. You can add the glitter and also make it glow in the dark.

I think Laticrete does a lot of work at Disney World. NOT.

I don't know Erica, when you use natural materials, like slate, glitter just doesn't come to mind.

glitter grout..yippee

better late than never. Saw this grout in a mural and it was awesome. I don't follow the rule "what if it doesn't turn out?" That could be said about any project. Hope yours turned out like you wanted. I am doing a sunrise for the backsplash behind my range. I'll be using sea glass, wish me luck. I'm a Newbie at this tile stuff. I learned a lot reading the posts here before I attempted my 25'X13' kitchen/entry way floor. I'm doing the countertops now. Thanks to all for each of the posts you respond to, it was a great help.

Smile laticrete epoxy sparkle dazzle grout backsplash looks real nice

We really like how our back splash turned out and wanted to share. We used the copper epoxy base grout with sparkle in it... It's called: LATICRETE SpectraLOCK PRO Premium Grout with the added copper dazzle. It never stains and is amazing to clean!! LOVE IT and want to build again just so I can try more colors of this stuff Ha Ha... here are a couple pics

Sam another from me, really gives it some pizzazz. Seems without the razzle dazzle it would be just plain grout. I think most of us stay away from adding something to our grout, hard enough to get it perfect as it is. That really enhances that installation

Adding "glow in the dark" glitter, could be good for a bathroom at night. You wouldn't have to turn any lights on.

part C color with copper dazzle

I was looking at the copper dazzle for a shower project with mosaic glass tile and came across Sam's post of the backslash. I registered so I could find out more details about Sam's post. I would love to know what part C color and tile was used in that project as it both would go really well with the tile I have now. Thank you!

Hi Ria.

Sam hasn't logged in since February of 2012, so might not see this. Just looking at the sample chips kinda seems to me like one of the reddish ones like Tawny, Terracotta or Saltillo.

Not sure about the tile.
