veterans in here?

Just read an article on CNN online. The military is recalling inactive reserves back into active status. Any of you affected? I have 1 more year on inactive status.
Curious.

God what I disaster I was, and would be, in the Army. I was a 19 year old snot nosed draftee kid. They gave me an M-16 and a radio and told me to have a nice day.

I am afraid I would be a demoralizing factor on today's army. We did way too much partying with dope and girls to be much of an effective fighting force.

Our motto was:

We the unwilling
Led by the unqualified
Asked to do the impossible
For the ungratefull

There may have been more, but I forget all the lines.

Saw where they are refering to this as a "back Door" draft. Not letting guys out who's time is up also. I wouldn't be surprised to see a real draft reinstated after the November election. Sure am glad that I'm a lot closer to social security (now that's a real oxymoron) age than draft age. Been there and done that.

I'm classified to go immediately after women and children and flatfloor.

I feel for those who have been thinking they're going home and are told they are not.

We the willing,
Led by the unknowing,
Are doing the impossible,
For the ungrateful,
We have done so much,
With so little,
For so long,
That we are now qualified,
To conjure miracles,
Out of sweet $%* all!
