shower ptrap leaking

Hello,

I am selling my house and just noticed my shower ptrap is leaking had a plumber out and we did testing to prove it is leaking. When it goes dry about 2days later my basement smells of sewer. I just run the water to fill the ptrap and its good for a week or so.

I want to fix it as I am selling my house and have a buyer. My realtor stated I have to fix it.

This is a basement shower stall on a concreate slab and has a tile floor in the shower.

My question is - If we dig this up and replace the pipe. How hard is it to re-do the shower base/pan and surounding tiles? Is this a nightmare? or can a good tile person knock it out with no issue?

Thanks

It depends on how the shower is constructed, the main hurdle is floor to wall transition. At the very least the first row of wall tile will need to be removed to be able to tie the waterproofing together. But again it depends on how the shower was constructed.
