How to layout tiles?

I am going to be tiling a hall and three rooms that touch the hall. It is a long hall that starts off the entryway that is not tiled. I am have a couple of thoughts of how to layout the tile but welcome ideas.
1. Align the tile down the center of the hallway and then tile into each room. The tile of course will not be centered in the rooms
2. Tile each room centered and then run it into the hallway. This will probably make nothing line up in each doorway.

You could use a relatively narrow accent tile in each doorway, and get the best of both worlds.

I think it is important to have the hallway makes sense. You will have furniture and other things breaking up the look and hiding the walls in the rooms. Spend some time thinking about it.

I would center the hall for equal cuts along each side and let the tile flow into the rooms. Like Jeff said, the cuts in the rooms won't be as critical.

I, too, would make the hallway a priority.
