Actually, the 3/4" gap would probably work okay even at the tub, but I'd probably just build up a little thinset there to be safe. The rest of it isn't going to be a problem since it's almost completely covered.

Unless you're flooding the floor, I wouldn't worry about water getting past the trim. If it makes you feel better, fill the gap with silicone

Are you going to be tiling first then setting the vanity? If so, fill that gap where the edge of the vanity will sit just like at the tub.

What if we changed the thread title to 'Hey! Looky here!".

Thank you Kevin,

I like the thinset idea.

I thought I was supposed to set the vanity first then tile up to it. If I tile first then the problem goes away.

I ain't to proud to beg! haha

It's always best to set the tile first. Then, if in the future you have to install a different vanity, you don't have to worry if it has a different footprint from the old one.
