Shawn....throw me a PM and let me know what your 4 salt trucks gross for a season. Average it out for just salting. No plowing.

Ain't that the truth. I wouldn't be in this business if it wasn't for the salt. Truth is salting is why started buying more trucks. I saw the light i just wish someone would had told me all this when I first started. I try to tell my plow only guys that you want to make money you need to buy a spreader

Our salt truck drivers get the most hours. Us plow guys are there just to move the snow so the salt can go down.

80% of our equipment is our own. The other 20% we rent for the white season. Salt trucks and loaders mostly. We have a couple of guys that we sub stuff to.

What I had in mind is you send your salt trucks(take the plows off) up in November, we run them with our guys, you pick them up in April. Go to the mailbox and get your check every month. The numbers would have to work out on both sides.

It's been about 2 weeks with nothing. As of yesterday we were only supposed to get maybe a inch on Friday.
And I wake up to this......

This storm should put us over 100" for the season.

Yeah, it's a bit crazy here right now. It just started to rain. Going to change over to snow about midnight. Got a pre treat salt run going out at 11pm with the rest of the crew going on standby at 1am. It will come down fast and furious. 30-40mph winds. Going to be a heavy, wet 10+" lots of pretty colors on the radar.

Well... Sat and sunday here it is going to be in the 60's so I will definitely be getting the bike out. The old lady doesn't get up early on the weekend so I maybe be able to sneak out here with my motorcycle before she notices. I made the mistake of letting her ride mine last year about mid summer and boy I don't think she has rode her bike since

I miss my bike.
Woke up one morning and decided Corvettes we're pretty cool. Sold the bike, got the Vette. Drove the Vette for one summer and met my wife, sold the Vette.
I kick myself for ever selling the bike.

You could always buy another. The boss is younger than me. She wanted a bike, and that was that she was getting a motorcycle. She had never had 1. I have had bikes and drove like the dumb ass kid that I was. I didn't want a bike but trying to teach someone how to ride with out a motorcycle is nearly impossible. So next day I went and got a smoking deal on that blue R6. I am glad we got them they are fun and I don't do any of the dumb shit I did on it, the like when I was a kid.
