I am helping a friend finish his master bedroom and bath. This is the job that made me start this thread.
We installed the last 70 square feet of ditra heat duo. We decided to back butter the felt on hopes to lessen the hollow tile sound.
The duo was installed 4 days ago. We pulled up a 12" square area yesterday to repair a high spot. There was absolutely 100% adhesion.
So far there is 20 feet of tile that has dried for 24 hours. These tiles sound hollow just like the rest of the floor.

A word of caution. Don't use (Duo) if hollow sounding tiles bug you.

Travis, that is a very good idea!

I think I would just inform my customer ahead of time that the hollow sound is normal.
