I don’t know what happened to that thread. I didn’t push any buttons.
No worries, Cindy.
You sealed your grout with Tile Lab, but you are trying to apply Stone Armor over it. You were concerned because it took a couple of minutes for the grout to wet out when you applied the Armor, but it did eventually wet out. So the Armor is doing its job.
You were also concerned with potential yellowing of the joints. Armor will not yellow. I’ve not heard of a single case where Tile Lab yellowed. Quite a few folks have used Armor over Tile Lab, and I am yet to hear, or personally experience, any problems with doing so.
You also have a 4ft crack in a grout joint. You were worried that your cleaning technique may have caused it. Well, a toothbrush and bleach will not cause grout to crack like that. We are looking at a structural/installation issue.
How was the tile installed? (over plywood…4ft is the width of a sheet)
Joist size, spacing and unsupported span?
What, and how much, was used for the sub-floor?
Do you have perimeter expansion joints?
If it’s a little crack, you can use a caulk that is color-matched to your grout. This will “hide” the crack. I want to know what caused it to begin with, though.
How did I do?
