Question Grout is two different shades?

I recently had a contractor(total moron) install a tile floor and the grout is screwed up. He used custom building products "Delorean Gray". Some spots are are super light gray and some appear very dark. I have heard of stains, colorants and dyes to fix this but which is the best?. I really don't want to remove all that grout. Thanks in advance.......Jim

Hi Jim, Welcome.

Gray grouts are notorious for discoloring if care isn't taken in controlling the water when grouting and cleaning up. The discoloration is often only on the surface of the joints and can be cleaned off. Scratch the surface with a screwdriver (Craftsman, of course) and see whether the color you want is underneath.

Hi guys, the floor was grouted 6 weeks ago. The moron used ad-mix and water when grouting. Some of it had cracks in it so he came back and regrouted with pure ad-mix. I have always used justed water in my grout to mix. What if the color is underneath?. Thanks

If the color is just below the surface, you can clean the mess off the surface. Did you check it our?
