I used the nonsegmented 4 HF blade from the 3 pack dry and went slow around and around with some hard porcelain tiles and it did a decent job with lots of dust. It did take a while. Go slow and many passes of shallow grinds. Please use a decent dust mask.

Thanks guys. I may try the non segmented one as well. It just seems like the blade keeps bouncing around on it. I may need to clamp it down.

It helps to have something like a scrap piece of carpet or foam under the tile to absorb vibrations. Clamping helps. Holding a wet sponge against the blade can reduce chipping. I've never used harbor freight diamond blades, but I bet the diamond content isn't very high which would definitely affect the cutting ability.

Anyone here have tips or resources with information on how to tile a bench and shower niche? I'm confused about what to do for the edges. On the niche, I think I have to make the tiles that border the niche a little longer so that the inner ones will meet them. On the bench, do I use bullnose on the tip and make those come out a bit so that the vertical tiles meet up with them? Thanks for any info.

Bullnose, mitre, or profiles for both. Without those you'll have raw edges showing. Once you narrow it down I can help a bit more.

So is the question about how to match up the edge of the bullnose tile with the face of the field tile on the other wall? I've wondered this myself and haven't really seen a good explanation. When I get there I planned on setting the field tile first and have the edge of the field tile line up with the surface that the bullnose will be going on. This assumes 1/8" thick thinset under the bullnose so when I lay the bullnose I will have a 1/8" grout line. I guess you would have to adjust the field tile edge accordingly depending on intended grout line and expected thinset thickness. Working the other way, with bullnose sticking out first, seems a lot harder to me, but I'm a newb.

You are correct Joe. Either frame it out like the first pics where you would tile the inside of the niche first and bring the field and bullnose to it.
The second pics are the opposite. Bring the field tile to the edge of the niche and the bullnose is on the inside of the niche.
