Ok, since this catagory is a little vancant Ill add to it. Here is the story of the town I grew up in in southern Oregon. Its was founded by the same man who founded the Brookings insitute in Washington, DC, Robert Brookings. He was the capitol behind all operations to move lumber from the local area (about 10 miles north of the california border) to San Francisco and Portland at the time.
And later went on to be on of the greatest philantropists of our country. The author was my grandparents neihbor for many years, and has been the owner of the Brookings land and townsite company since 1977, great guy. Hope you enjoy!
