Spec for slope for transition between rooms?

I'm trying to figure out the max specs for a sloped transition between rooms. Customer has a bathroom floor off the master bedroom that after tile and 2x layers of ply sits 2" higher at the door threshold than the subfloor in the next room, which will get carpet, and wants me to build a tiled ramp between the two. I'm not sure it's a good idea, the only spec I can find is that a ramp should have a maximum of a 1-in-12 pitch and should be a non-slip surface. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi Cody.

Couple questions:
Are you intending for this to be “accessible”?
And there are ways of evening out transitions with prep work. Any chance you wanna share what layers and thicknesses you’re starting with and what you wanna do so that we might suggest solutions to reduce the height transition?

Look in ANSI A108.01, paragraph 3.2.3 Changes in Level, Cody.
