This one is going to be no joke. Had a mild ice storm in '03 and a biggie in '91. They say this is going to fall in between. It's 28° and very gusty winds right now. No freezing rain yet. That will hit tonight. I know we will lose power. Hello gas grill!

are you in the thick of yet? we are on stand by. might get enough moisture and the drop in temp to get some black ice. Won't know till 3-4am. which means a mass panic and everything will go slower as subs trickle in. I got 2 guys (6 trucks) that live 45 min on a clear afternoon from the zone. so gives them a hour to get the grocery stores and churches before the bakery staff and mass starts. Come on one more event.

Got a coating of ice right now. I can see it building up on the trees and power lines. Wind is pretty steady. Power is still on. We will see what morning brings.

sorry for the long delay, but took a while to recover from all that. Skied 4 days in a row at Mt Hood Meadows in OR where those photos were taken, then another at Stevens Pass in WA. MHM had everything from spring mush to a foot of new over the 4 days. Stevens was about 8" of new in the warmish sun. MHM is a ton of fun and spread out with a little of everything from steeps to trees to cruisers. Stevens is more compact, but no less fun - the back side is 1700' straight down of thigh burning bliss. The double diamonds at both areas are exiting, and the 'unnamed' chutes at Stevens are some of the only runs I've ever chickened out on and hiked back out rather than chance it. Mt Baker, Vancouver BC local hills, and Whistler/Blackcomb weather didn't cooperate this trip, so went south and east to escape the rain.

ps. the ice storms in WA state were bad, fortunately they were rare. Because of all the rain, the tree roots weren't very deep, so lots of trees would fall down under the weight.

You should have seen the flat bed it was on. if the spreader wasn't on the truck this kid would have lost the diamond plate on the highway. He bought it from his boss. truck spreader, plow this company's employees really don't take care of their equipment. I am going to pick the spreader up on tuesday I will take some pictures.

Parts of Wisconsin got more than 36" of snow from this crazy spring storm!
