The setting materials were 211 Crete Powder with the 4237 Latex additive, tiles were TREND Q 24x24, 24x48, 16 x 48 in a brick pattern (joint on center), membrane was Hydroban, grout was spectraLock, grout joints were a little bigger then a 1/32.

Thanks.

Mick

See you had a "control joint" there to deal with. Looks like you continued it up through the finish.

1) Is that how you always deal with them?
2) Did you have much floor prep or was the floor fairly flat?

For everyone else, feel free to chime in on how you deal with them. We have had success in putting some thick Noble Seal over them or 1/8" cork that has a "stretchiness" to it, about 2 to 3 feet on either side of the "control joint".
AND NOT continuing it through the finished material.

I'm not looking for what the industry standards or NTCA say, I can read that myself. I'm looking to see who does it differently and who does it "by the book". Not so much why but how. If it is done "by the book" then obviously one would know the answer.........

I need to tell you all a story...

We were bidding a nice size job at a Condo on the Beach on Marco Island. This is a relatively new building where there are still a few unsold units. They are all "decorator ready" which means that they are ready for flooring , paint, etc. I always assume that we are in competition for any job. Even though we are currently doing all of this particular contractor's work, you never know what might be lurking behind the scenes.
There is a flooring dealer on the Island (those who know the Island will know who this is right away) that thinks the Sun rises and sets on their every word. Historically, they have enjoyed a lucrative run. Not so much now-a-days. Anyway, one day I get a call from the contractor and he asks "This system of yours...has it passed any tests? Is it approved by anyone other than yourself?" I immediately know something is up and ask "who have you been talking to and what did they say?" He said he would forward the emails.
WOW!
This guy went on and on, and on about how the TLS products will never work, that they have not been tested by anyone and that the 4,000 sf job we were bidding would fail if they awarded me the job. Nice guy, huh?
I sent the contractor all the test results and more documentation than anyone could ever want. When he opened my email, he thought I had sent him the entire text of the Health Care Bill....He politely told the guy that he was wrong and that he should probably check his facts before he acted in such a way. The guy went nuts! He responded to the contractor and copied the homeowner that the job was sure to fail!
The contractor wasn't very pleased by this guy going directly to his client for any reason, not to mention that he was really trashing both the contractor and myself.
The contractor told the competitor that he will never be invited to bid a project again.
And
We have just completed another successful installation using TLS and Laticrete setting materials.
Then I told the contractor about the 100% labor and materials warranty issued by Laticrete when the entire "system" was used together. He only smiled.......
