We have a Comfortaire. http://www.comfortaire.com/ It is pretty much a sleep number bed but is different from the brand you see on TV because there is no partition between the sides. I LOVE it, and it was totally worth every penny. My husband likes to sleep on a brick, and I like to sleep on a marshmallow, and this way we can actually share a bed

I'm happy to say; the wife and I are proud owners of a brand new Tempur-Pedic bed. It was a bit pricier than the conventional beds but considering how much time we spend on it and how long we hope to own it, it will be worth it. Can't wait to go to sleep tonight.

Casper has a bad back too and we were back and forth about buying the TempurPedic or the Sleep Number bed. On a regular mattress his back ached so much it would keep him awake at night. After staying over at a friend's house, he insisted that we buy the Tempurpedic. It worked OK for a few months and then his back started acting up real bad again.
End result was we bought the Sleep Number after having the other mattress for just a year.
The Sleep Number bed is awesome. I like a hard mattress, he prefers a soft one and before we got this bed, we could never compromise on a decent mattress. Now we are both happy and his back problems are no more.
Hope your bed works out for you. It certainly is a pretty penny to put down for a piece of furniture, but then again, you spend a decent amount of time on it too

We didn't like how the Sleep Number felt and I've heard too many negatives about them anyway. It came down to the Tempur-Pedic and a Simmons BeautyRest, that we really liked. I would have been happy with either but my wife has rheumatoid arthritis and spends much of her life in pain, so we decided to go with the bed that seemed to be better for her condition. It was sooooo comfortable. After a month or so, I'll report back.

I have to recant my earlier posts. I still love my sleep number, my girlfriend can't stand it. She says she always feels higher than me, which is weird cause I sleep at a much harder setting than her, but she also feels that we are sleeping seperate, I don't get it. I still love it, it is the only bed I can sleep on w/o back and neck pain in the a.m.

Let me know how you like it. Last night was our first night on ours. My wife loved it. I had a few drinks so it wasn't a fair test.

Alright, it's been over 2 months since we received our Tempur-pedic. I'm sending it back. Probably the worst mattress I've ever slept on. Feels like I am sleeping on a sidewalk (not like I know what that's like... ). We thought we just had to get used to it, but that never happened.
We just ordered the Sealy Posturepedic Signature Series 11. Hopefully that will be worth the expense.

Never slept on a sidewalk? You don't know what you're missing.
Wife and I have had waterbeds since 1980. Old-style full motion, no waveless.

like our dial a number bed
We've had one since November -- an off brand -- having troubles with one side and we need service -- wish we'd gone with the name brand for that.
BUT, my back problems are very improved. I like it soft and husband likes it much firmer.

I've been meaning to chime in. Been a few months since we got our Tempurpedic. My wife loves it. I hate it. There ya go. Its kind of like chocolate vs. vanilla. Some like chocolate. Some like vanilla.

I really, really hate buying beds/mattresses.
maybe even more than I hate buying vehicles. At least with vehicles you can usually find a buyer if you don't like it.
