Here in SE Texas, because of the flooding, work has gotten very wierd. I still drive around where there are mountains of drywall, wood and carpet down on the streets. I see some Contractors booking into March or April.

I'm getting calls daily for work...but everyone wants it yesterday or they are bidding the work. I did three estimates on Sunday(!) and can't accommodate them for various reasons. Just me and a helper (sometimes) and, recovering from a broken humerous/shoulder...it ain't easy. Damn, this always happens when I'm injured!

Got a small crew I use and even THEY are jammed up. Why can't I find a good crew to take up the slack? Grouted a floor with Fusion Pro today....think I'll just put a hot compress on my shoulder and chill.....

This should go on for at least another 6 months. Then comes the next hurricane.

At least Huston seems to have awakened to reality, and adjusted the flood zones and the minimum required elevations on new homes in some areas. Getting flooded out twice in a few years in a 500-year flood plane...something's not right.

So if things slow up for me Laz I know I can call you up! . Just buckled down two tubs and two showers floated and tiled so another year working with minimal days off, what more can one ask for in the trades?
