Gotta brag about my boy.
My oldest son (5th grade) just got accepted into a very accelerated learning program called the East Middle School Challenge Program. There were 500 kids invited to apply for 25 spots from our entire school district, and his essay and test scores (99% in the nation) got him accepted along with 24 other students. He will stay with these students for all of his core classes, and then take electives with the regular student body. He will stay with these same students all the way through 8th grade. He will graduate 8th grade with a majority of his High school credits, and have the opportunity to pretty much graduate high school as a sophmore, and actually graduate high school with enough college credits for his associates degree.
The only draw back is this school is across town, and I will have to provide transportation, but it will be well worth it. Especially if he doesn't waste his brain (like his dad did) because he got bored with school and started partying. This will surround him with students just like him, and hopefully he won't start hanging out with the knuckleheads (once again like his dad). I am super proud and just can't get over it

Before you know it he's going to be telling you how to do your job . . . if he isn't already.

Congrats Levi that is terrific news.. Just hope he doesn't feel overwhelmed and loose interest after some time.. Keep encouraging him.. I would start complaining now how your knees, back and head hurts at the end of a working day and maybe he will get the point

I'm an apocaloptimist. I'm well aware that everything is going to hell - but I'm convinced it's going to be okay.
