How do I seal and shine tile floors?

We have just layed ceramic floors in a new construction and I would like to know what do I need to do get them ready for everyday use and get a better shine. They are matte finish and not a bit of shine. I'm looking at a high gloss or semi gloss sealer after I seal the grout. Can anyone give this 51 year old blonde some simple steps of what to do after the installer has completed the installation?

If its a ceramic tile I don't know if you can change its appearance. The grout can be sealed with Enrich N' Seal by aquamix if you want to darken it and give it a glossy look.

Any high gloss sealer applied of course will wear and have to be reapplied so we generally don't advise it.The best solution of course is to clean it thoroughly after grouting,or pick a tile with a shiny finish,

Generall for sealing you clean the tile, let dry then apply sealer with an applicator and wipe off excess before it dries, don't apply it to the tile, just the joint.

DO NOT put a sealer on top of glazed ceramic. This will be a disaster for you. Glazed ceramic is non-pourous. It's absorbency rate is almost 0. Sealer are make to be impregnated into the pourous parts of the tile or grout. Since there is no porous part, and as i may have already mentioned, DO NOT put a sealer on glazed ceramic tile.

If you bought the wrong tile and have decided you want it to have a sheen, then use a topical - but this is not without heavy maintenance requirements itself.
