It seems to me the stores use the Diesel price rise to take advantage of the situation. Take Qwikrete base coat wall mud for example. I believe it was about in 2005 it was going for 3.23 a bag at Lowes. Then Diesel went up to near 5.oo a gallon and the price went up to 7.20 a bag. I even asked them at the store and they said the rise was because of Diesel prices. Then, Diesel came back down in price, even a little lower than in 2005 and the price per bag only came down to about 5.50 per bag. And, that's close to where it's at today. I don't understand why it didn't come back down to the 3.23 range when Diesel went back down.
