Not sure Rob. I was born in 71. I think the blues and rock'n'roll from America layed the ground work for a lot of them.
Its funny, because technically some of the groups today, probably play their instruments better then some of the groups did back then, but they're not as groundbreaking in their sound.

For the 40th anniversary of sergeant peppers, a few modern bands did some covers.
