I read your entire thread and it made me so angry that you are having to re-do a shower in a new house. Did you ever try to get the contractor to cover some of your costs?

i have all ORB fixtures and was kind of annoyed to find that Schluter didn't sell matching drain grate. However the bronze still has the same tone to it and I would say it matches well enough.

perhaps you can magic eraser the burn mark. But I would probably use the holes for my own cables anyway. I think it looks better than tile. I just dislike tile countertops unless it is a bathroom....

it is cultured marble. the low cost white tops you often see at HD or Lowes. THe backsplash is curved from the top, not epoxied (meaning, I can't just remove).

Name some items that you use while tiling that are not sold for tile

I am no pro, but I often make use of rubber scrapers that I take from my kitchen while tiling. I scrape the sides of the thinset bucket and squeegee off any thinset that gets on walls, etc. with it....
