the thinset/adhesive/wood subfloor? the existing subfloor butts up against the opening where the tub would go. i would say it's about 1 inch high off the real subfloor

so there is a row of tiles that were butted up to the edge of teh tub. i pried up this row of tiles because i need more space to fit in the new tub. the row is about 5 tiles or so....
