Fun Woodworking Projects

I enjoy woodworking for fun stuff around the house, gifts, or art projects. But it's been awhile since I've made some sawdust...other than work-related cabinetry. And I'm getting the urge to make some stuff. Anyone working on fun or art projects? Christmas gifts? :gettree:

I built a house over the past three years. I guess it was fun. :D

I'm on the board of our local woodturning club, you can do a lot of fun stuff with a lathe :)

There are a couple guys in the club who make a living with it including this guy who used to do drywall and tile for a living.
this guy (he makes wooden hats you can wear)

If the tile work in his house is any indication he was very good at it.

Cool Nate. Kurt and I are wood turners too, though I haven't had any lathe time lately. :(

Whittling on Cottonwood bark is something I enjoy. Like Dave, haven't had much time here lately.

That's really cool Davy.:yo:

Say cheese. :) As a rookie, it's hard to get them to come out the way I want. Some have a gorilla face. It's fun and a challenge at times.

That is pretty awesome, I wish I had artistic talent, only thing I can carve is a steak. lol

Davy 11-22-2017 05:20 PM

Yeah, I can carve a steak much better than I can wood. :)

Put a bandanna on the first one's head and it'll look just like Musky Mike. :D

I like your cottonwood carvings, Davy.

I did this indian carving years ago. Spent days on it. Used butternut wood. Never put any sort of finish on it. :)
