In correlation with JB's thread on SEO and web tips for the contractor, I would like to announce that we have taken a step in order to help you build your web presence.

As JB mentioned, backlinking is key in giving yourself a better ranking in the search engines. Since trading links can be a tough task, we wanted to make it easy for you as well as create a geographic database of tilers, fabricators and restoration professionals.

All you need to do is list the following in a reply:

Name or company name:
Address:
Web address:
Phone:
Email:

We would appreciate a reciprocal link on your page, as it is good for SEO, but it is not mandatory. If you don't have a website yet, we will still be happy to list your company so feel free to submit anyways.

Feel free to follow up with any questions. The page will be listed on our home page under "Information" in the left column under "Manufacturers".

I'm interested in link sharing. I would rather my email be saved for contact on my website, vs posting it here as I have a secure captcha required to keep spam bots to a minimum. Maybe pm'ing some info might be better?

StoneTooling

That would be fine. We won't list any information people don't want to make public.

I got you listed and received your PM. Once our local "walk-in" customers start registering, I will divide CA into Northern and Southern.

Here is the icon we use around the web and feel free to list any information you want.

Yeah, I wouldn't list anything here you don't want indexed in Google. I don't put my cell number on the Internet, for example. All you really need, Daniel, is name of business, location and the url. If there are names or phone numbers on the site in question, they could be listed, too. :)

Or, you could put a special contact form up on your site. :)

I am working on a better landing page and a form for contact info. This will be a work in progress depending on how much time I can free for this project. I just figured we can get a head start since SEO and Backlinking is fresh on our minds.

Thanks Daniel,

I'm on a larger job this week, no time to work on my links page, but you will be up in a week or so (I'm shooting for this weekend). There will also be a link back here, John. Sorry for the delay!

Hamilton

This is what I had to use to work in my widget:
<a href="http://www.stonetooling.com/" target="_self"><img src="http://www.stonetooling.com/v/vspfiles/images/Icon.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a>

What do I write, and where- to resize the thumbnail?

Btw, found a code generator that will allow you to use a separate image link..http://www.freecodesource.com/index.php?page=myspacegenerators/link

Edit, I realize I need to add text for the link as well to make it useful as a link back to the bots. One step at a time lol

Hey everybody, just throwing this out as a last call for now. We still have a lot of blank spots for many states. Let us know if you'd like to be added. There is no cost to be listed and it's great for SEO on your website.

In the contractor website thread (http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=98496) there was some talk about linking to each others sites to help your SEO traffic. I recently made a resource page (http://www.tigermountaintile.com/resources-2/)for my website and am including a section for links to others pages.

I started to go through Daniel's contractor listings (http://www.stonetooling.com/Find-A-Contractor-s/641.htm) and grabbed a few names from it and listed them, but I figured I should get permissions first.

Anybody that wants to be listed- post, pm, or email me your information and I'll put it up.

Anybody that I've already listed will need to confirm that they want to be listed. I'll pm you if I don't hear from you.

I would appreciate if others would do likewise. Feel free to list the following information with a link back:

hey Daniel-- I'll be happy to swap links with you sometime soon. I've got to do something with my website. My wife used Front Page to build and edit it. Unfortunately, Yahoo no longer allows the use of Front Page, so I'm going to have to either find another domain host, or another website editor before I can do anything other than add pics to my gallery. You'll know when that happens. I want to reformat my whole site.

Tracy: I added you in. Check it out to make sure it's correct. I didn't put your name in as I'm trying to keep the listings consistently the same format.

Vincent: I have you in the listings but I need you to OK it. I figured I should get permissions from everyone before I just assume it's OK to list. Also I looked at your site and saw that you have listings. When you get to the point that you want to add some more, I would like to be listed. I can send you a logo so that it fits your format that you have established.

Bill Vincent: I'll add you in, I just need your OK and information.

Remember the point of this is that you have an incoming link to your site. When I go on Google Analytics it tells me how many people I have linking to my site.

Even a link from a hokey little site like mine can help your seo traffic. ;)
