Ceramic Tile Education Foundation
Background Facts

Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) is an educational institution that offers local, regional and national training programs for consumers, installers construction professionals, architects, designers, building inspectors and sales associates interested in the sales and installation of ceramic tile.

Founded in 1996 by the Tile Council of America, ASCER (Spanish Manf.),and Assopiastrelle ( Italian ) CTEF pursues its objectives by presenting an extensive curriculum on ceramic tile installation based on the very latest information available from the American National Standards Specifications for Installation of Ceramic Tile A 108, and the 2001 Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation published by the Tile Council of America. A certificate of completion is issued on satisfactory completion of work modules and written test.

More than 1000 students have graduated from CETF classes on topics varying from a basic understanding of ceramic tile to complex tile installation methods and material applications. The combination of a practical application curriculum given by instructors with extensive backgrounds in the subject matter and hands-on training modules has positioned CTEF as one of the world’s best training institution for learning what materials and which methods it takes to do an installation job correctly.

In addition to a full schedule of training at the Anderson, SC location, CTEF offers on-site training modules where manufacturers, contractors, distributors and other interested groups can request a training program be presented at their facility. Both short- and long-term programs can be tailored to building contractors, inspectors, counter or sales people, remodelers, installers and other groups. Training sessions can be introductory, basic, advanced or refresher depending on the needs of the group.

In 2001, CTEF added five upgrade courses: Ceramic Tile Consultant , Mortar Bed Basics, Glass Mosaics, Tile Design Essentials using Mosaic ® software, and Residential Remodeling with Tile. Each of these hands-on training courses requires 40 hours of classroom instruction where students learn theory and techniques, safety, approved industry standards, housekeeping, handling and storing materials, estimating materials, tools and perform various installation tasks. CTEF has expanded its schedule dramatically to meet the growing needs of the tile industry and will continue to offer new upgrade courses as they developed

CTEF is recognized within the ceramic tile industry as the authoritative source for installation training.

You mention that you go on the road to do training. Is there a schedule of places you are going to be, or is based on the request of interested parties?

Please keep this interested party on your mailing list of upcoming training sessions in Florida.

Thanks,

Art Phenis

Let's see if it works on emails!

bonsalartp@aol.com

NOPE! No email hotlink. Ok John where's the directions?

Art,

You may have to turn this feature on yourself. When you click on "post reply" you'll notice there are some options you can check at the bottom of your post field. You may have to "check" "parse URL's" to turn on this feature.

Art,

I think you want it checked.

Also that signature you are using at the bottom of each post is your email address correct? I don't think you want the "www" there. But apparently email addresses don't "fire up" automatically.

Lets try this: bonsalartp@aol.com

Well, there you go. Nothin' to it.

Boy, now I feel real stupid.

I can't figure out how to get back into the section where I can erase the http://www.

I went into my profile, not there. I went into reply and took the check off url and it came back on as soon as I responded the last message.

Who ever came up with these new fangled things anyway?

Fangled? Whats a fangled?

Art,

Try clicking on your "profile icon" below one of your own posts. When that opens then click "profile" again at the top of the page. At that point you should be able to enter your username and password and make your changes.

I hope!

I should probably upgrade Dave G.'s title. "Junior member" somehow doesn't equate with his stature.

Go to the very top right of any of these pages and click "profile." If you had windows save your username and password, just type the first letter of your username into the box. Then click "submit now." You can then change anything except your username. If you did not have your username and password saved, you'll need to type it in. If you can't remember it, you can have it emailed to you automatically. Takes a second and it'll be in your email box.

The info you list in the signature section, however, won't be "live." Live links have to be posted in the text of your post.

You can also post images here -- photos, jpeg, gif, etc. The image has to be on the Internet, not just on your computer.

The coding you use is [/img*] Omit the asterisks. I put them there so the code would show up in this text. The url of the image goes between the two bracketed bits of code. No spaces between anything.

For example, the url for the little item at the top left of the forum pages is: http://johnbridge.com/Saltillo_new.jpg

If I put that url between the two things above (without the asterisks) it will appear like this in the post.

[img]http://johnbridge.com/Saltillo_new.jpg

Have fun, boys and girls. Just don't post any manmouth images. They'll take over the screen.
