Well, I'm back in wonderfully less humid Virginia after my visit to Fred Hueston's Stone Fabrication class at his facility in Longwood, FLA. Florida is hot, humid, and rainy. And it's not even summer, yet.
The class was excellant. It was geared for those interested in the stone fabrication business, particularly those interested in opening/expanding a shop that does high volume kitchen counter production, mantles, vanity tops, etc.
I was there to learn about fabricating thresholds, seats, bullnose and trim pieces, soapdishes, etc. The techniques are the same as those used for big slabwork, and fortunately the tools are affordable for what I need to do.
If anyone has an interest in more specific info, let me know. Fred's website is http://www.ntc-stone.com.
Who has been keeping John on his toes the last few days?
