I've had good success with the Mira Matte Stone Enhancer from Miracle Sealants. They suggest that you seal first then install the enhancer. I also used one from HMK that worked well.

I've been told the Tile your world enhancer is the best but I don't think it's available yet. How much longer John? Tim?:)

We are waiting for new containers to arrive. It'll be any day. Unlike our other products which are dilivered in plastic bottles, the enhancer will be in a tin container.

Most enhancers, including ours, are used alone. You don't use a prelimiary sealer.

I went to double check why I seal first.

This is a link to Miracle's instructions.

Their enhancer can be used alone but if the textured stone will be exposed to oils or grease they recommend sealing first. But in other situations the enhancer alone is ok and will provide a deeper enhancement, or you can even seal on top of the enhancer. I guess it can't hurt the stone and it won't hurt Miracle if you double up on their product.

I sealed first then used the enhancer when installing some flamed granite one on job and some sanblasted granite on another in some apartment building lobbies here in the NYC. Considering what could get tracked in I don't think extra protection can hurt. The jobs still look good a few years later after heavy use.
But I'm sure just enhancer would be fine for a residential bathroom.

Ok, digging up an oldie here... but wanted to ask this to you guys!

I installed a Florida Tile, Pietra Art, Natural stone back splash (Alexandria Beige color) and was recommended that I use the Mira Matte, Miracle Sealer for the tile enhancer. Is this a good choice? Will it damage this stone? Or am I safe with this. My big concern is that most stone enhancers I have looked at run around $85/QT, while I can get this Miracle stuff for under $10 a quart.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Edit: Here is the link to the stone. I guess it is a limestone. http://www.floridatile.com/ProductStuff/PietraArtLimestone.htm
