Don't know if this is true or not, but for what it's worth taken from another BB.

No worries here- it's just a hoax, not a real virus. :) You can use http://www.snopes.com/ to verify, if you like! (Best site for debunking all sorta stuff)

Jim I notice that you read alot of your e-mails from people you don't know..most if not all are not worth your time and besides that that is how you get viruses so be careful. Best thing is if you don't know them then don't even read it.
Banner advertisement, spammers and many web based fly-by night, gimmick companies are closing up shop lately as many dot-commers bite the dust and shinking revenues...with a little luck maybe they will all go away eventually if no-one responds...

Down with spammers and telemarketers!!

Thanks JC, at first I was going to say not true, but thought about it and yes I do on occasion. Your right, thanks for waking me up.

As you might guess, I get a lot of email, most of it junk like everyone else. I have to be very careful, though, not to delete the ones I want to read and answer. For every new question you see on the boards, I get a couple more via email.

One of the things I've come up with to thin things out is deleting all "forwarded" mail, including that which comes from my mother-in-law, whose mail list must contain thousands of names. Jim, I'm sure I must have deleted the virus alert you got. It would have been forwarded by my MIL.

The other thing I do is delete everything without a subject.

Make sure your mail program (Outlook) is set so that it doesn't open mail unless you double click. If you're a real paranoid, you'll do like JC and go to the Internet for your mail and not download it at all. That's a pain, though.

And I never open attachments unless I'm expecting them.

And every time Norton comes on my screen telling me it has an update, I do it immediately.
