We have a one piece tub/shower that is not straight at the floor,
meaning the tub itself is bowed. There is a 5/8" difference from one
side to the other with a bow in the middle when I use a straight line.
My question is should I cut all the tile at it's shortest distance and
caulk the unusual gap varying from 1/8" to 5/8" or as my wife suggest
cut the tile in different lenghts to try and make an even 1/8" across the tub?

I would cut to fit. Filling a 5/8 gap with caulk (or grout) would be ugly. And seeing this space vary from 1/8 at one side to 5/8 in the middle would be worse.

You have to cut to fit, 5/8" gap is pretty ugly.:drool2:
