Hi all-

Lurking for awhile, just finished my first granite tile countertop, and now thinking about project #2. Bathroom countertop, not very big, about 42 inches wide. I think I want to use the preformed granite edge that comes from Floor and Decor, but the dimension is only 1 inch.

My first countertop I used 2 layers of 1/2 inch ply and Ditra on top. How should I build the counter top to be able to use the preformed edge but still be strong enough?

Thanks,
Julie

Same way; you just have to add slivers along the bottom on the vertical.

What Royce said about the slivers.

And I'd use a thicker 3/4" ply as my bottom layer as it's far stronger and offers substantially more support to the upper layer. :)
