Hi
How so you get outlook to send a reply receipt, if you don't have the receipt tab in tools?

To request a read receipt for individual messages, click the Tools menu in the new message window, and then click Request Read Receipt.

To request a read receipt for all messages, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Receipts tab. Select the Request a read receipt for all sent messages check box.

Note
Message recipients can choose not to send read receipts, even when they are requested. If you do not want to send receipts, click the Tools menu, and then click Options. On the Receipts tab, select the Returning Read Receipts option you want.

Best I could do....

....what the HELL you guys talkin' 'bout "outlook receipts"?

I must have missed somethin' here somewhere! I know (well kinda) what Outlook Express is but what's with the receipts thingy?

Bud
You send someone an e-mail, and you know they read it because when they do, a little pop up window says they opened their mail...so they can't say they didn't get it. A good thing to have if it's an importamt message...at least you know they got it.

Well don't send them to me, because I don't bother with them. When I open an email and that form comes up, I delete the whole thing. I get a lot of email. Don't have time for that stuff.

Bri:

Desktop runs Windows ME, best I can tell most of Outlook Express is version 5.50 - got receipt tab.

Laptop runs Windows 98, best I can tell most of it, too, is 5.50 - got receipt tab.

I say most of it because it lists a whole bunch of components with various version numbers, but the majority start with 5.50.

More than this I do not know.

Hell, who am I kidding? THIS I do not know, either.

Along those lines this is from yesterday's EMAZIN that I mentioned in a thread.

Spy Vs. Spy

Want to know if people have requested read receipts on
email messages they've sent you? Here's how:
- Open your Outlook Inbox, and on the View menu, point to
Toolbars and click Advanced to show the Advanced toolbar.
- On the Advanced toolbar, click Field Chooser.
- In the Field Chooser drop-down box, select All Mail
Fields.
- Scroll down until you see Receipt Requested.
- Click Receipt Requested and drag it onto the column
heading in your Inbox.
- Close the Field Chooser box.

Now whenever you receive a message, Outlook will let you
know whether or not the sender is checking up on you!
