In the DIY Forum we have been conversing with DIY'er Pat Galvin about his intended diagonal tile layout.
Keith (kalford) made the statement;..."and lots and lots of cuts".) With the exception of not being able to take advantage of a "full tile" placement along one wall, is there really any more cuts involved in a diagonal install than there is in a straight lay install?
If you were to (hypothetically) layout a job that centered the tile down the middle of the room and then caused you to cut all walls, then is there infact more cutting to be done?
The wall perimeter dimension remains the same. Of course you (in some cases) would be trading a 12" cut for about an 18" cut but does that really change anything or does it just seem like it?
What is the normal % extra added for $$ and tile consumption on diagonal jobs if any?
