No, no internet connection. However you can email him at the jb forum address and I'll bring it to him, unless it's something you don't want me to see. :D
Is Jim able to receive phone calls?

Jim is doing well. He is still in the hospital as there has been a lot of red tape getting him into a nursing home. The systems works very slooowly, oh so very sloooowly. I'm more frustrated by this than he is. I'm the one dealing with all the agencies, gathering paperwork, making phone calls, being put on hold for indefinite periods of time or wait for the next available representative. I swear they do this on purpose, hoping you'll hang up. But in the long run it will all work out and I have the fortitude to deal with all of it. I keep reminding myself it's in his best interest that I do what's asked of me.
Jim is comfortable and well cared for, and that is what really matters.

HUGS Kate!! Hang in there, Red Tape is such a pain in the ARSE!!:blah::blah:
Maybe there is a reason that things are taking so long, but as long as he is comfy and you aren't too stressed then all is well... Keep on smilin'!!:D:santa5::tree::rudolph:
PS: I think we need a hug smiley in the list!

I agree.... the public sector phone mailbox, hold, que, wait cycle is used:
to paint nails....
to make poor coffee, then pour and drink it....
to have another donut....
to gossip about last night, last weekend, last month....
to discuss latest girl friend, boy friend, conquest....
to force callers away....
to deter return calls....
to whatever......
My answering machine has a speaker phone function and a redial button and..... I'm becoming adapt at positioning the unit in a room where I need to complete tasks.... hands free.... while keeping an ear pealed for that long awaited answer.
The local SSA office in Prince Georges County MD kept my speaker phone on hold for one and one half hours yesterday.... and that was after I had contacted their office within seconds of staff opening their lines to client calls..... (they opened those lines 15 minutes late that morning).
Proly’ a good thing I ain't no longer no fed stupidvisor'. :suspect:

Many years ago I called my credit card company. I put it on speaker phone when I was on hold and proceeded to scrub my kitchen floor. By the time they came back on the line I'd forgotten whom I had called and had to ask who they were. The operator and I were both cracking up when I explained.
Stay strong Kate. As is often the case these things are more difficult on the care givers than the patient. We all love you and our thoughts are with you and Jim.

There really is a Father Christmas :D
I do hope that he is close enough to you that getting to see him isn't a 3 day camel trek.
There is a star on our tree that carries a very special wish for you both.
Merry Christmas Kate. Merry Christmas Jim. God Bless you Both.

So true.
I feel Jim is happier and getting the care he so desrves, something he could not get at home.
The worries aka stress are leaving me, knowing he is in a better place. I am able to move on with my life, where ever it takes me. I am finding peace with this.
PS
Merry Christmas to you and Dave.
