I don't live in Tyler. We're at least 250 miles to the south, probably more. That's about "four-five hours" in Texas talk. We don't go by distance; we go by how long it takes to get there in a pick-up truck.

I didn't know he was in Tyler. How long you gonna be there? :)

P.S. I'm surprised nobody's got a thread going on the shooting at Ft. Hook (Killeen, Texas).

I've been abroad twice this year, going again for Christmas, but for now, I'll be spending the weekend in Springfield (friend's wedding) and Branson.

Can't wait to be away. Too much to do here and we need a break. Great thread idea by the way:yipee:

11-06-2009, 09:50 PM
yep, Ted Peters, though haven't been there fer awhile. I'm more likely to be found having a cool one at Sandbar Bill's. (let's see how well y'all know St Pete :D )

11-06-2009, 09:52 PM
Sea Critters right by the Pass a Grill bridge.. Nice place to eat too.. :DBilly's Stone Crab on Tierre Verde.. :tup2:

11-06-2009, 10:03 PM
Wharf (next to Sea Critters). Undertow - best known for its beach "scenery," but its food is the best kept secret on the beach. Best part is that it's also the best prices (for food) on the beach. :tup2:

11-06-2009, 10:04 PM
Are stone crabs or blue crabs in now?Wait a minute you guys ain't from Fl.where's Ceramictec?:D

11-06-2009, 10:06 PM
St. Pete's a vacation? I live 20 mins from it..hehe

you guys missed the best place to eat.. http://www.saltrockgrill.com/

Crabby Bills and others are just nice little bars.
theres hundreds of great small places to eat at all up and down the coast.
it's the atmosphere what makes it great.:tup2:

Pops Sunset grill is a good one in Sarasota.

11-06-2009, 10:07 PM
Stone crabs season runs from October 15 through May 15 :D

St. Pete's a vacation? I live 20 mins from it..hehe

There's always one in the crowd... ain't there?

11-06-2009, 10:16 PM
I'll be spending the weekend in Springfield (friend's wedding) and Branson better keep your GPS tracking 24/7, LadyG - a couple of bad turns and you could end up in the Land of Limbaugh.

11-06-2009, 10:24 PM
you guys should get out of those area's next time and try seeing Tarpon Springs.
its a small Greek town popular for all types of sponges. a tiles guys favorite.
lots of good food there.
especially Capt'n Jacks Grill :yipee:

11-06-2009, 10:27 PM
I can't wait to go to Costa Rica.

11-06-2009, 10:28 PM
Rick, when you are ready...you know to shoot me a missive beforehand. :)

11-06-2009, 10:29 PM
Stone crabs it is this weekend.:tup2:

11-06-2009, 10:55 PM
Absolutely, Marge. I don't know if it will be in 2010, but its high on our list.

11-06-2009, 11:05 PM
Rick, I have about 10 days off over the holidays. We checked last week...and there were mileage seats available for CR. But we just can't rationalize another trip so soon. Wiley talked about maybe starting the master bath remodel but I told him I'm not doing demo until I have kerdi board in my hands. Way cool stuff.

Maybe we should rationalize that trip. :)

And Brian (ceramitec) has us interested in Panama. That's the last country left in Central America on our list.

11-07-2009, 12:27 PM
you will like it. I have been to both, they are pretty much the same.
depending on what you like to do while in a country like these.
the beaches (playa) all have nice resort hotels to stay at which are always nice. then you have the more inland stuff like zip lines, rafting, hiking, quad riding trails, small town stuff.
I think I would rather fly into San Jose then Tocumen in Panama.
Panama City is like a small L.A. to me. very busy and crowded.

11-09-2009, 02:35 AM
Get old real fast!!

I did that and still no vacation. Must be doing something wrong, Oh yes, now I know. No money.:cry:

11-09-2009, 06:33 AM
Instead of going back to where you have already been, why not try a place you haven't been to like the Galapagos??

11-09-2009, 06:34 AM
I did that and still no vacation. Must be doing something wrong, Oh yes, now I know. No money

Maybe your man in the White House will help you out. After all, he loves giving money away.;)

11-09-2009, 10:11 AM
Rick, thought about the Galapagos and South Africa. I've been to East Africa but Wiley has never been there at all. Both are pricey destinations, so not in the cards in the near future. :)

11-09-2009, 10:36 AM
Maybe your man in the White House

Who says he's my man?:( :shake:

11-09-2009, 01:25 PM
We had a lovely time in Branson. Silver Dollar city was all decked out for Christmas :) We were able to see the Dicken's show which is very well done. I heard that attendance at the park was over 24,000:wtf::wtf::wtf:

11-09-2009, 02:15 PM
Who says he's my man?

Ummm, I dunno. Thought I heard someone say it once.:D

11-09-2009, 02:16 PM
Yes Marge, Africa is very expenive. My mother spent two weeks in Africa about 3-4 years ago.

11-09-2009, 09:25 PM
Ummm, I dunno. Thought I heard someone say it once

Certainly not I. :D

11-10-2009, 05:33 PM
Well, Coyote Sams is a great place to eat in Tyler, Tx. Lotsa rifles on the walls. Largest private collection of old rifles I've seen in one place...
Question: Does everyone in Texas own a cowboy hat?

11-16-2009, 03:55 PM

Dave Beautiful pictures , what kind of camera do you use.

Funny enough, most of those pics were out of my wife's P&S, with a little PP in Photoshop. But I shoot a Canon XT with an EFS 17-85IS as well as an F4L 70-200 lens
