Hi Jeremy, it should do it automatically when you upload the photo.

Well, did you axe it nicely, Jeremy? :shades:

It resizes mine alla time since DaveM updated us some months ago. I talk nice to it, though. :)

How large are the photos you're tryin' to upload?

I know it'll deal with a couple megs of photo and resize'em just fine. I've tried to feed it some was maybe three megs and it said "no thank you."

Jeremy, it will resize, BUT I have found if the pics are really high resolution it might be a problem. I try to keep them at 2mb or smaller and it works well. :)

My camera shoots over 2mb files and won't work.

Get a photobucket account, as an added bonus it will frustrate the moderators.

Just like gueuze always stiring the pot. We're not frustrated, it's you guys that loose out. Using a host site like Photobucket means the photos are actually on their server only. When you see pictures from Photobucket on our forum, the forum needs to access that site to retrieve them every single time someone looks at one of these pics. Somewhere down the road, it's inevitable that these pictures on a host site will cease to be hosted. That means the photos will disappear from this forum. What's the sense of that? It's way better to load them onto this forum so they stay put for anyone to see.

Do it like we used to by using a free program like Irfanview. Take a look at this article jgleason wrote for us (http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=14926). :)

Don't be advised by Gueuze! :shades:

There's a thread racheere (http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=14991) in our whirl-famous Liberry that'll 'splain you how to make your pichers smaller. You just gotta make'em a little smaller electronically and the site program will take'em from there.

You start linkin' to online sources like Gueuze does and your photos will start to disappear. Like Gueuzephotos are likely to do.

Even in my old age,

If you're in old age, what does that make me, ancient, or worse yet, very ancient? :D
My goodness.:lol2:

I don't think I'm old, but the nice folks who surprised me on my birthday in South Carolina a few days ago gave me an "old fart" pen. So I must be old...the pen says so.

Jeremy, what did you do that it worked?

Kurt, embrace as young as you feel. Jaz might come around and ruin that in two years, but take what you can get. :yeah:

Someday I will be dead. If my photos go with me what do I care?

Seems some brainiac could come up with a software patch that would automatically copy it to the forums servers if it's that important.

Or just make any posting photos from other places against the rules.

Life is full of tough decisions.

Thanks for taking the time to learn how to resize Jeremy, I look forward to seeing your pics. :)

I'm happy to see the IrfanView post is still useful. There is a batch mode so you can resize bunches of pichers all at once. I might add an update for doing that.

I'm still using Fast Image Resizer (http://adionsoft.net/fastimageresize/), It doesn't get much easier.

I keep the resolution set to 600x800 (you have to enter it manually, it's not on the drop down menu), click on "options" and set the JPEG quality to about 70, and drag and drop baby.

The program automatically creates a folder for the resized pics. :)

Best of all, it's free. :tup2:

Oh yeah, leave the "Resize Quality" set on "Excellent", if you try to bump it up to "Best", it takes too long to resize. Other than that, it resizes almost instantaneously.
