I think it's the same.

Maybe I just need to get some cable tweaks set-up. I think windows might have defauted my MTU back 560 or something.

I'm sure that's the problem. I had the same symptoms with a 66 Mustang convertable.

Rob Z. mentioned a week or so ago he was having trouble accessing the boards, but that's a different deal, and we have to remember Rob's on aol.

I can't tell from here, because a lot of the stuff is loaded in cache. I think it works fine, though.

Maybe you've been screwing around with your rig too much, JC.

I'll say one thing about this software. On other sites that have had it running a long time, the boards work really slow, but I think that's because they've never archived anything.

Go to Do-it-yourself.com and check out the Tile board. Bri and I are about the only pros who show up there. The "moderator" hasn't been there for about a year, and nobody's at the helm. I've even got a link to this board posted in my signature, and nobody's said anything about it. I think they've just allowed too much data to accummulate on the first layer. I'm going to do it differently. We'll archive some of this stuff before long.

Same thing with their masonry.

John:

I actually think I can detect a difference in speed since the change to the new site.

And sometimes when I try to go from board to board, or from thread to board, or board to thread, it just seems to stall. If I hit stop and try again, it almost always does just fine. Don't recall ever seeing that before the change, and I don't think I have changed anything on my machine. Not intentionally, anyway.

Site is still way faster than most, but I think there really is a difference.

I think I can ditto cx's comments. Things stall until I "go back" or "refresh" then the change is almost instant.

It's like it needs an occaisional kick in the butt to keep going.

It's possible the new server could be a little slower, I guess. I know it's slow once in a while.

Nothing can happen to make me change hosts again, though. Too much agony. Maybe if we archive some of the older stuff, it'll speed it up.

I can live with it John, it is only a tiny bit slower, no big deal.
