Just had part of my shower regrouted. (also along a granite countertop)
What stone/grout sealers to you guys recommend?
Thanks!
Ken, in this and your other recent thread about sealers, it really helps to tell these sealer gurus exactly what you're dealing with if you can. There are lots of kinds of marble and a couple kinds of Polyblend grout and it can make a difference.

Hmm.
Grout box says PolyBlend, 3 Grout, Non-sanded Grout
Don't know if there is any other info on the box that is useful?
The granite countertop don't know anything about, except it's like darker beige/rose color?
The box says seal with SurfaceGard or a StoneSpecific Sealer

Hi Ken :)
Unsanded grouts will usually require a high solids sealer (such as STT SB, Dupont Stone Tech Bulletproof, or Impregnator Pro). I've gotten some positive response using Surface Guard, but I think there are better choices.
Regarding your granite. First you need to establish if it needs sealer at all. Many don't. Spill some water on your granite and let sit for about ten minutes. Wipe away, and see if the stone has darkened. If so, obviously you need a sealer.
Personally I'm a solvent based purist. STT SB, DST Impregnator Pro, and Prosoco's SLX 100 are a few of my favorites. Either of these impregnating sealers can also be used on your unsanded grout.

Hi Ken :)
Dupont Stone Tech Products can be purchased directly from this websites online stone. Link is in my signature line and directly below the Tile Your World logo at the top left of this page. STT SB can be purchased online at www.sttsealers .com . I intentionally left a space so it wouldn't be a hot link, but I'm sure you can figure out a fix for that! ;)
