Before I knew what I was doing, I had installed my faucet with plumber's putty on my granite countertop. I immediately removed the faucet and cleaned off the putty with a rag. I've read that you typically need a poultice to remove the oils. Is this still the case since the putty was only in contact with the stone for a short period or is there another cleaner that could remove any residual oil? The stone was sealed by the installer.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

It would probably be OK if you just give the faucet hole a good clean-out with an acetone rag. Typically oil stains as a result of plumbers' putty develop over a number of days or weeks and are characterized by a dark ring around the faucet.
