Hi,
We recently purchased a home with a fireplace. In front of the fireplace is a small section of red , I beleive they are glazed, 4" by 4" (or so) ceramic tiles. The fireplace is more decorative than anything and my wife has several plants on this "bed" of tiles.
The other day it was raining, and I came in with my wife's umbrella and dropped it to the side. Unfortunately, it was still wet and ended up on the end of these tiles. Within just a short time, my wife removed the umbrella and the tiles underneath looked sort of "white" where they had gotten wet. Like a pair of leather shoes get when they get wet. It looks as though the water removed the glaze and my wife cannot get the stain off. Any ideas? Do we wax the tiles, or is there a way to restore the finish to the tiles? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and quite possibly get me out of a heap of trouble!
Thanks,
Mike
