Maybe in the wrong section, installed some florida tile 13x13 white porcelain last week then wainscotted the room the next day just the traffic from the wainscotting has put a beating on this tile. The question is....why? Its porcelain, I grouted the floor today and thought the abrasiveness of the grout would clean it off. Nope, anyways what will clean it? I wish I knew the series so I could email Florida tile.

Go dumpster dive for a tile box. :yipee:
Try some 409 or something and a white nylon pad.
Dunno.

If it's dirt, get some alkaline cleaner or degreaser. You can find some new tile cleaners at the tile store that are ok. They are not as good as the ones we use from the supply houses but they should work ok. If not mix some ammonia and water. Mix it with hot water and let it dwell on the surface for 10 minutes (that's the part that most people miss). It needs time to emulsify the dirt so that it will release. Then scrub with a deck brush and wet vac or mop it.

Goof off is a good remover. Had green grout stain white porcelain once-I think I used some very fine sandpaper and elbow grease.

The best way to clean it is to use liquid extraction to loosen the dirt from the grout and use a wet/dry vacuum to pull the dirt back up and out of the holes. The best way to minimize dirty grout is to lay the tile close together to have very thin and narrow grout lines.

The Grout isn't dirty the tile is, the tile was white porcelain and just sucked all the dirt in from foot traffic. Some tiles if laid tightly will look poor due to tile variance I don't think tight is good in every application.
Hunter define very fine like 600 grit or 3000 grit?

Well whatever was in my box at the time. I am sure it wasn't 3000. But sanded with a little water. Still haven't gotten this out?

Rick did you try the ammonia and water? It should work for you. Goof off will kill too many of your brain cells if you have a lot of area to clean :suspect: It's a good gum and sticky product remover as well as a paint remover, but not formulated for dirt (still assuming that is what you have).
We do a lot of post construction clean ups - alkaline gets rid of the dirt and goof off or Orange Breeze gets rid of the paint dribbles.
